Pattan, July 10: Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir today asked the youth to take benefit of the skill development programme under a package announced by Central government recently.
The minister was addressing a series of public meetings at Khor Sherabad, Golipora, Pattan this afternoon, an official statement said.
The minister hailed Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for “providing job opportunities to J&K youth in corporate sector.”
“With the sincere efforts of the UPA government, a comprehensive skill development programme has been launched to train the youth of J&K in various skill-oriented programmes,” he said, adding that it will facilitate J&K youth to work in corporate world of India.
He said this was the first time that cooperate world has been opened for youth of the Kashmir.
He said the state government with the cooperation of Centre is making all possibilities to provide more and more employment opportunities to the youth of the State in different sectors for which the state has also introduced SKEWPY for youth.
Mir said that the time has come to tap the inherent potential of youth for the nation building and added that it is the responsibility of government to create the avenues to nourish them in such way that we should create world class human resource to make the J&K at the top of the world.
He said, “Our youth have enormous potential which they have proved whenever they get a chance.”
The minister said that the success of Dr. Shah Fasil in IAS-2009 become the torch bearer for the youth of the State.
Referring to the glorious past of Kashmir, the minister said that “apostles of Kashmiriyat like Sheikh Noor-u-din Noorani (RA) and Lal Ded” have through their teachings preached the importance of education, knowledge and peaceful coexistence and the need of the hour was to follow their teachings.
He asked the youth to follow their teachings and achieve the quality education as it is the pivotal to attain the highest success in life. He said during last two decades J&K lost everything and “we have to now choose the path of prosperity to regain the self respect in the competitive world.”
