Dying Bund
This is refers to the article "The Good Old Bund" by Fida Iqbal. The author has very clearly raised the important issue regarding the dying glory of the Bund across the banks of river Jehlum. Reading between the lines, the author has rightly narrated the aura the Bund in the past. This reminds me of the time when I used to accompany my grandfather for a stroll along the Sonawar Bund under the shades of Chinar trees. But unfortunately the aura is lost. Now only barbered wires are visible as stumbling blocks thus restricting the free movement of the people. The Bund that has remained one of the main attractions in Srinagar just a decade ago now seems to be a part of history.
