Showers inundate Usmanabad
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 15: The residents of Usmanabad Bemina have complained of severe waterlogging in the area following Thursday’s rainfall.
A delegation from the area told Greater Kashmir that the authorities constructed a drain in the area last year, which was completely failing to let the water out during rainfall.
“A slight rainfall in the area submerges the houses making the movement of people, especially children very difficult and also causing huge inconvenience to the elders,” the delegation said, adding, the newly constructed drain hadn’t been connected to the main outlet. They said that despite repeated pleas to R&B, the authorities failed to macadamize the colony roads.
They urged the senior functionaries of the department to take immediate action in this regard.
