Release her forthwith: HCBA
Srinagar, July 16: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Srinagar has strongly condemned the arrest of Qurat ul Ain of Jalal Abad Sopore by Sopore Police.
In a statement, the HCBA general secretary G. N. Shaheen asked the Government release her without any delay. “The HCBA describes arrest of the lady as a vindictive, cruel and malicious and as a tool of state repression and weapon of war by the authorities in order to demoralize and humiliate the Kashmiri women. The Bar Association is deeply concerned about the life, liberty, health, honour, and dignity of the arrested woman and requested the Bar Association Sopore to rise to the occasion and take all necessary legal steps for release of the victim,” the statement said.
He said the HCBA will extend all support to the Bar Association Sopore and the family members of the victim for her safe release.
