SASB asks pilgrims to ascertain weather conditions

Srinagar, July 17: Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). Preet Pal Singh on Sunday urged the intending Amarnath pilgrims to ascertain weather conditions before embarking on their pilgrimage.
“According to the Meteorological Department forecast for Kashmir Division: there is a possibility of partly cloudy sky on 18th July and July 22, it will be generally cloudy on 20th and 21st July and light rain/thundershower are expected on July 19. The details of weather forecast are available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department, at (www.amssdelhi.gov.in),” Singh said in a statement.
He also urged all intending pilgrims to have themselves medically examined and anyone with an orthopaedic problem, chest or lung ailment or any cardiac deficiency must not undertake the arduous Yatra, involving trekking upto 14,000 feet.
