T-20 cricket tournament inaugurated
Kangan July18: DIG CRPF Sham Chand inaugurated the T-20 Cricket Tournament at Hariganiwan cricket ground here on Monday.
The CRPF 118 Bn, in continuation with its Civic Action/CPG Programme has organized Kangan Premier League, T-20 Cricket Tournament which would be played on knock out bases.
In the event total of 8 teams are participating from Gund, Haknar, Sumbal, Hariganiwan, Mamar, Thune, Kangan and Prang villages.
The first match was played between Prang-XI and Hariganiwan Riders. Batting first, Hariganiwan team scored 173 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Prang also scored 173 runs and match became tie.
Since the tournament is being played on knock-out basis, both teams went into super overs. Finally Hariganiwan became the winner. Javed Ahmad Dar of Hariganiwan Riders was declared. man of the match.
In his inaugural address, DIG, CRPF , Sham Chand said that various Civic Action and CPG Programmes are being organized in the Valley by various CRPF Battalions in their local areas of responsibility.
Under these programmes various activities are launched which include Computer Training to the vcf Youth, Debates and Seminars, Cultural and Sport Activities.
He appreciated the efforts of 118 Bn in this direction for maintaining healthy Public relations by organizing Kangan Premier League, T-20.
