Audience likes Wuchhan Goas Pakaan Goas
Srinagar, July 1: Unprecedented rush was witnessed at SKICC auditorium on 7th running day of the ongoing Comedy Drama Festival organized by the Jammu Kashmir film Makers And Artists Co-operative Ltd with audience admiring the Friday treat: Wuchhan Goas Pakaan Goas, a Kashmir play presented by Bhartiya Kala Munch.
The play written by Showkat Shehri and directed by Rashid Barqi was a satirical account of the “dearth of local leadership at grass-root level, emphasizing need for political awareness among the general masses.”
“This has been a common notion and belief till recent past that the socio-political activists have been carrying their vested interests which consequently dejected common masses from politics with the result that conmen and opportunists cropped up to take over the helm of affairs while the high level thinkers continued to remain in oblivion,” Barki said.
“This gloomy scenario was animated in the play by lively characters that generated hilarious comedy and satire with a down the line message that the time has come for the intellectual class to put in positive and practical efforts in dealing with the public affairs through politics instead of making fake criticism within their own fantasies,” the hosts said.
