Educate Int’l community about K-issue: Dr Fai to NRKs

Vienna (Austria) July 1:  Executive Director of Kashmiri American Council (KAC), Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, on Friday said that it was the responsibility of the Non Resident Kashmiris (NRKs) to educate the world community about the ground realities in Kashmir.
Talking at a reception given to him by the Vienna-based Kashmir Cultural Center (KCC), headed by a prominent Kashmiri businessman, Naeem Khan, Dr Fai said, “The KCC has been very effectively highlighting the plight of Kashmiris in Austria for the past 20 years.”
Dr Fai said the recent peaceful processions in Kashmir were so popular that at times the number of attendees exceeded one million. However, the youth in Kashmir are completely disenchanted with the insensitivity and selectivity shown by the member states of the United Nations towards Kashmir.
Kashmiris demand that in order to reach a durable and lasting solution of the Kashmir problem, both India and Pakistan need to be persuaded to include Kashmiri leaders in all future negotiations.
The parameters of the peace process need to be defined and it must be made time bound. “The peace process and killings of innocent Kashmiris cannot go together,”  Dr Fai added.
