Hurriyat (M) reacts to PM’s statement
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 1: The Hurriyat Conference (M) on Friday reacted sharply to the recent statement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, about normalcy prevailing in Kashmir.
“If Kashmir is normal then what is the need of eight lakh forces, bunkers and deployment of paramilitary in every nook and corner here,” the spokesman of the amalgam said in a statement.
“If there had been normalcy, then what was the need of putting thousands of Kashmiris behind bars. Why there would have been curbs on media then?,”
The spokesman said New Delhi has always construed the prevalence of bouts of peace in wrong way to befool the world.
Commenting on zero tolerance policy of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the spokesman said “had there been implementation of the policy on ground, then forces involved in killing of more than 100 youth during last year would have been punished.”
“Normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be restored till Kashmir issue is resolved, according to the wishes and aspirations of the people,” he said.
