Lull, tourist rush no normalcy: Yasin Malik
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 1: The Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Saturday said Kashmir issue could not be pushed to backburner as a result of prevailing lull and tourist rush.
“The Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh looks upon the huge presence of tourists in the Valley as restoration of peace and end of Kashmir issue. Curiously, when people come on streets and offer sacrifices in Kashmir, the whole India comes forward with requests that Kashmir issue would be resolved when there is peace. But when the protests and agitation come to halt and peace is restored, the same rulers boastfully declare it their victory and forget their commitment on resolving Kashmir issue,” said Malik, while addressing a function organized on Meraj-un-Nabi (SAW) at Jenab Sahab Soura shrine here today, adding that “Peace prevailed at several intervals in Kashmir during last 70-years but it could not stop people from pressing for the resolution of Kashmir issue nor could it ever make the them give up their stand on and struggle for freedom.”
Malik said peace really provided a golden opportunity to wise men to sit together to take steps to settle the issues. He clarified that the Kashmir issue was pending solution for the past 70 years and it was because of this issue only that there were three full-scale wars and several other small-scale wars so far in the subcontinent. “It has also consumed four generations of Kashmiris. If this issue is not resolved peacefully without further delay, it can trigger a nuclear confrontation in the subcontinent which would engulf the whole South Asia in its flames,” he said, adding that since Kashmiris are the real masters of their land, their participation in talks on Kashmir issue with other parties—India and Pakistan--- is indispensable.
Malik on the occasion threw light on Meraj-un- Nabi (SAW), urging people to live as perfect Muslims and adopt Islam in every aspect of life to attain success in this transitory world and the eternal hereafter. He urged them to abstain from social evils and un-Islamic practices.
