Thatri (Doda), July 19: In a tragic incident, boulders dislodged by the rains, crashed through a residential house killing at least three persons of a family, here on Tuesday morning.
Official sources said the boulders rolled down the hillock and crashed through the house at Panch nallah village of Kishtwar district, after heavy rains in the wee hours.
Three persons were killed on the spot as they came under the debris of the house. The deceased have been identified as Ghulam Hassan (48), son of Abdul Gaffar, his wife Zubida Begum (45) and their son, Muzaffar Ahmed (11).
Official sources told Greater Kashmir that a large portion of rocky hill caved in on the house of Ghulam Hassan at around 4:30 am when he along with his family members was sleeping.
“All the family members were buried under the debris and were crushed to death on the spot,” sources said, adding “Families in the neighbourhood also left the village for safety after their house also came under small portion of rocks. However, all of them were safe.”
