DDC Bandipora reviews rehabilitation programme
Bandipora, July 19: Rehabilitation programme for the families affected due to the construction of National Level 330 MW Kishen Ganga Power Project in Bandipora district was discussed threadbare today.
The programme was discussed during a meeting chaired by the District Development Commissioner, Bandipora. Manzoor Ahmad Lone. The meeting was told that a 100 bed maternity hospital is proposed to be constructed as a part of rehabilitation programme besides the HT/LT system would be strengthened and the 35 km Sumbal-Bandipora road would be upgraded. These schemes would cost Rs. 22 crore and the funds for the purpose would be provided by the NHPC/HCC as a goodwill gesture, the DDC told.
The meeting was also informed that the Government has formulated a comprehensive plan for rehabilitation of the affected families of Village Budwan and Khofre in Tehsil Gurez, whose residential houses and land is affected due to the construction of Dam for the power project.
