Prepare project report for irrigating Pulwama karewas: Taj

Pulwama, July 19: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi ud Din today directed the Irrigation Department to prepare a project report for irrigating the karewas of Pulwama, known for producing world famous almonds.
 He directed the Department to submit the report within a week before it is placed with the Technical Advisory Committee of the Department for approval. He also announced release of Rs. 12.50 lacs for augmenting the water supply to Astanpora locality in Payar village.
 The Minister made this direction while inspecting drinking water and irrigation facilities in these areas alongwith a team of engineers and officers today.
 Later, addressing a series of public meetings at these places, Taj said the Coalition Government is working to mitigate the sufferings of people in far flung areas. He said the Government is duty bound to provide basic amenities like drinking water, electricity, etc.
