Search operation launched in Surankote

Surankote (Poonch), July 20: Security forces and police have launched a joint search operation in the upper reaches of Surankote near Line of Control in Poonch district, official sources said.
They said that some locals informed the police about the movement of a group of militants in the area. “A group of three armed militants were spotted by the locals, late last night”, a senior police officer said adding, “Immediately the security forces and police swung into action and launched a massive search operation”.
However, reports said that the security forces failed to get any breakthrough till the last report came in. It is being suspected that the militants might have been able to flee from the spot.
