Shalimar link road in shambles
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 20: The residents of Shalimar have expressed strong resentment over the “failure of the authorities” to repair a link road the tourist hub with the Northern Foreshore Road.
A delegation from the area told Greater Kashmir that the link road has not been repaired for past many years. “It is ironical that the successive regimes have neglected the development of this vital road which is widely being used by the tourists and the locals,” they said.
The locals said they had many times tried to approach the MLA. “However, we have failed to locate him. We have only seen the MLA during the election campaigning. After that we have failed to locate his whereabouts. This shows his non-seriousness towards resolving the matters of public importance pertaining to his constituency,” they alleged.
They sought the intervention of Divisisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Samoon into the matter.
