Traffic police announces diversions, route plan for cycle rally

Srinagar, July 20: In a bid to streamline traffic on the day of mega cycle rally being hosted by the state police on July 23, SP Traffic Maqsood Ul Zaman announced a detailed route plan for the cyclists and also the diversions for the other traffic.
 During the event from 5:00 AM to 9: 00 AM, no vehicular traffic shall be allowed to ply from Badyari Chowk at Dalgate towards Nishat and along Gupkar towards Grand Palace-Cheshmashahi Crossing-Kralsangri and onwards.
 All Nishat, Shalimar bound vehicular traffic shall remain diverted along Rainawari – Hazratbal - Zakoora-Crossing - Tailbal - Shalimar upto Ishber Nishat and shall take the same route back to Lal Chowk during the course of event.
 “Traffic police arrangements during the event shall remain strictly implemented as per the given route plan/map,” the SP said adding “Elaborate traffic deployments shall be made at all important crossings along the course to ensure hassle free movement of the race.”
 He added that elaborate parking arrangements for officers and participants have been made along Zethiyar Mandir - Grand Palace Road.
 He appealed that the “school buses on the said route should start 20-minutes earlier for their destination so that they could compensate time by going through diversions.”
