Haji Ali Kargili passes away
Kargil: Noted social worker, Haji Ali Kargili passed away here on Thursday. Many prominent citizens and several organizations have condoled the demise and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. Born in 1919, Haji Ali Kargili received his basic studies from Kargil Primary School and did his middle studies from Skardu. He later completed FA from Srinagar. Haji Ali Kargili was appointed as Master in Education department in 1944 and retired as District Social Welfare Officer Kargil in 1975. After retirement, he contested for Member Parliament as independent candidate in 1977, but didn’t succeed. Haji Ali Kargili was the first BDO of Kargil in 1965 when Kargil was a Tehsil. After retirement he founded an Organization named as Social Justice Association and deputed himself for the service of the society.
