Mir for economic empowerment of youth

Pattan July 21: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today said the main focus of political endeavor should see the youth of J&K economically independent, politically empowered and socially responsible for making the state self reliant.
The Minister while addressing a public meeting here in north Kashmir said youth are our future. “It is our responsibility to involve them in development and prosperity by way of channelizing their talent for nation building,” he added.
He said whenever the youth of the state get a chance, they prove their worth, adding that we have to explore possibilities to provide them a platform to nourish their intelligentsia for the betterment of the society.
To make the youth of JK policy makers of India, Mir called upon them to attain quality education and make a target that maximum youth of the state should crack prestigious exams like civil services, NDA, MBA, IIT etc. “If youth of the state want to lead the world, education is the basic pillar to achieve this goal”, he maintained.
Saying Pattan tehsil has a unique identity in JK, Mir asked the youth to work for the national unity and become the torch bearer for the youth of the state and added that with the joint efforts you would provide a big platform for the development of the state.
He assured them that I will uphold your aspirations at every forum.
He said that during last two decades turmoil, the youth of the state become the first victim and time has come to work for their welfare.
Referring to the talent exhibited by the students of far off areas in a function organized at SKICC last evening. The Minister said that they have performed at par   from the students of across the India and added that during 20 years the talent was not channelized due to unrest.
He asked the youth to come forward and take the benefit of various schemes launched by the Government. He said that we are working tirelessly to empower our future generation economically, socially and politically.
The Minister appealed the people to work jointly to tap the unexplored potential of natural resources of J&K for making J&K an economically prosperous State. He said that with the efforts of present Government the local investors are being encouraged to invest in a big way to exploit the potential of the State.
Referring to his recent interaction with Kashmir Chapter of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Mir said the Confederation is very much enthusiastic to invest in the state in different sectors like agriculture, horticulture besides providing marketing support to our traditional food items.
He said the investment of CII would create lot of job opportunities to the youth. He said recently CII held an apple conference at SKUAST in which experts of different States were invited to share the ideas and views with the local fruit growers to boost the horticulture sector.
