ZGM article

I have gone through the mind boggling write-p titled "Looking for Instrumental Leadership" by analyst ZGM (GK July 8).It is timely as it comes when the separatist leadership is in complete disarray. This strange phenomenon is ominous in so far it comes after the successful summer uprising 2008 through 2010.This not only shook Indian intelligentsia but convinced the huge emerging middle class that it should be not for nothing that the Kashmiri youth are laying down their lives through peaceful protests. Thanks to the information technology that has obfuscated all attempts so far by the GoI to keep Indian public in dark about the real happenings in Kashmir. It is also interesting to note that the world community did not lag behind but came in open support of Kashmir solution. To quote Ban Ki Moon’s statement and EU conditioning Free Trade on resolution of longstanding Kashmir dispute. The author so ably dissected the history of our struggle post 1931 with reference to role played by Mr Nehru and Mr Jinnah during a parallel movement that was going on along side ours in the rest of the subcontinent against the British. Nehru in particular proved practically that he fitted perfectly in definition of a leadership quality of 'envisioning' 'energizing' and 'enabling'. He in league with British Govt scuttled the efforts of Lord Wavel's A B C plan. The partition of India was a conspiracy against the Indian Muslims to settle scores of 800 years Muslim rule and by the British to avenge the revolt by Muslims against them in 1858.The haste with which Lord Wavell was removed to make way for Wily Mountbatten surprised even Wavel so much so he protested on his premature replacement at a time when history was in the making. Lord Wavell had almost brought round Mr Jinnah on A B C plan of political system post independence in the beginning of 1947. As per this 'A' would include centrally controlled areas of central, Western and South India. 'B and 'C' would have in them autonomous areas of whole of Punjab, NWFP, Sindh on one side and Bengal and Assam on the other respectively. Imagine the clout Muslims would wield as both B and C were having Muslim majority and were being already ruled by Muslims in the interim government. As an engineer I invite attention to the fact that all the major rivers such as Bramamputra, Satluj, Beas, Ravi, Chinab, Jhelum and Sindh would be located within Muslim majority jurisdiction. It is a tragedy that Muslims ended up divided into three parts and dependent on water in Pakistan as well as Bangladesh on India. The third part of Muslims that was left over here are completely at the receiving end. This is a lesson at learning the art of envisioning, energizing and enabling in politics.  I hope and pray that our leadership adopts Instrumental Leadership Model. It is never too late. Let them collectively stand up and ponder
