Srinagar, July 22: Come evenings, the paramilitary CRPF often blocks the Munawarbad Road, a key to link to Shahr-e-Khaas thereby causing huge gridlocks on the busy track.
 The complainants said the CRPF camp near Hotel Ikhwan often blocks one of the two lanes of the roads causing chaos and jams on the single lane.
 While the paramilitary takes over one of the track for personal use, the heavy rush of civilian vehicles is left to fend on the single lane.
 Leave apart locals, but the tourists happen to be the key sufferers as the road connects to the nearby tourist hub of Dalgate.
 “The big tourist buses which are  allowed to ply in the night hours alone get stuck in jams as the drivers find it difficult to manoeuvre the long cabs,” said Rashid Ahmed of Zakura.
 Rakesh Kumar a tourist from New Delhi complained: “For the past three consecutive days we reached the hotel at around midnight only because we were stuck in the jam in the nearby area.”
 “It looks that the authorities aren’t concerned about the tourists,” he added.
 The Shahr-e-Khaas residents on the other hand accused the coalition government of deliberately putting Aam Aadmi to inconvenience.
 “The government gets the road blocked because it has no heart for the people of Shahr-e-Khaas,” alleged Gowhar Ali of Naid Kadal as he was stuck in the jam.
 Despite repeated attempts the CRPF PRO didn’t respond to phone calls.
 “Sahib is busy,” the person who picked up the phone said.
