Leadership crisis
ZGM's article "Instrumental leadership" has generated a lot of response. But unfortunately ZGM as usual has not been able to name a single separatist leader who is responsible for the current leadership crisis at such an important juncture. The current leadership is cashing on mishaps that happen on daily basis and their every move starts with a Hartal and ends at Hartal. While dealing with such important issue as leadership crisis a bold analysis is needed and not just go to the past to hide our current evils. Kashmir till date has only produced one leader in terms of mass mobilization and mass following despite many people being opposed to his ideology and his choice of destiny for his people. I will not hide to name Sheikh Muhammed Abdullah who despite 1975 accord won a landslide victory in 1977 elections that are even today considered as the most free and fair elections ever held in the history of J&K. It is surprising that Kashmir today has no mass leader and leadership is divided while the goal apparently is the same. This is a very strange thing and people as well as the leaders need to look into it. The current leaders have to lead by example and not just act like agents of an ideology.
