Rajouri gets Rs 110 cr annual plan

Rajouri, July 22: The Annual Plan allocation of Rs.109.68 crore for district Rajouri was approved for the financial year 2011-12 at a District Development  Board meeting chaired by the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjit Singh Slathia, here today.
The approved outlay included Rs 4761.63 lakh as Revenue and Rs. 6207.21 lakh as Capital component, an official statement said.
Minister of State for Power,   Shabir Ahmed Khan, Vice Chairman, Kissan Development Board,   Rashpal Singh, Vice Chairman, Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People, Sayed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Vice Chairman, Advisory Board for Development of Gujjar & Bakerwal, Ch Bashir Ahmed Naaz, Vice Chairman, Advisory Board for OBC,   Kuldeep Raj Verma, MLA Nowshera,   Radey Sham Sharma, MLA Darhal,   Zulfaqar Ali, MLC,   Ravinder Sharma, District Development Commissioner, Rajouri,   G A Khawaza, Heads of various departments and district officers were present in the meeting.
The annual plan 2011-12 has been prepared on the basis of last year’s allocation except for salary component which is to be reflected as per B-4 statement.
Speaking on the occasion,   Slathia said that during the last year the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has registered notable achievements in every development sector. He said that the government has expanded the reach of education to every nook & corner of the state besides further improving basic services like health care, water and power supply, road connectivity, sanitation, security, transport etc.
The Minister expressing happiness peaceful and successful conduct of panchayat election in the state, the Minister said that newly elected Sarpanches and Panches will work hard for the welfare and development of their respective areas. He said that these panchayats will ensure better progress and prosperity especially rural packets in the state.
  Slathia directed the PDD authorities to work out a plan to reduce the power curtailment hours in the district which is causing hardships to the people especially to the student’s fertility.
The DDC presented brief resume of the current years a plan allocation besides highlighted the achievements during the last financial year.
He informed the meeting, under Education sector, Rs. 5507.67 lakh have been earmarked. The total capital component will amount to Rs. 1518.52 lakh, which will be used for construction of additional class rooms, buildings under SSA and kitchen sheds. Besides, free text books and merit scholarships shall be provided during the year.
An amount of Rs. 1497.31 lakh as capital component was utilized under district plan during last financial year which included Rs. 903 lakh under SSA (state share).
Under R&B sector, during the annual plan 2011-12 an outlay of Rs.1313.88 lakh has been earmarked which included Rs.1133.88 lakh as loan assistance under NABARD and Rs.180 lakh as state share. During the year 43.75 km of road length is proposed for black topping, 93.65 km, metalling, 77.70 km shingling and 46.50 km fair weather road is proposed for construction. Besides, 118 pipe culverts and 3 bridges are also proposed for completion.
An amount of Rs.2697.62 lakh was utilized under capital component of district plan 2010-11 which includes Rs.2195.50 lakh as loan component. Accordingly, 21.75 kms road was black topped, 36.85 km mettled, 34.90 km shingled and 57.90 m fair weather road has been constructed during the year besides, 159 culverts have been completed.
Under Irrigation sector, capital allocation of Rs. 1213.49 lakh which comprises of Rs. 70 lakh as state share and Rs. 1100 lakh as ACA and Rs. 43.49 lakh as NABARD loan has been earmarked for improvement/ upgradation of various schemes which will create additional potential of 209 hectares during 2011-12.
