SERC meet on power tariff postponed
Srinagar, July 23: The State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) Saturday postponed the proposed public interaction, convened to discuss various measures for power tariff in J&K.
“The meeting was cancelled as very few people could turn-up. And some of the participants objected that the meeting wouldn’t be held with fewer participation of people”, Bashir Ahmad, Technical Officer to Development Commissioner Power told Greater Kashmir.
He said the meeting was called to discuss the petition prepared by Power Development Department about the regulation of the power tariff in the State. “The meeting is open to every stakeholder including the Aam Admi and we welcome any objection or recommendation from them.”
According to representative of SERC the meeting is now likely to be held on August 2, 2011. Everybody including owners of business establishments is invited, he said.
