Twin Tree Talks held in City

Srinagar, July 24: Twin episodes of Tree Talk, a popular program on awareness of flora and fauna were held Sunday at Botaniclal Garden and Rangreth.
The first program, held from 7:00 to 10:00 at Botanical Garden was held in collaboration with Floriculture department while the second from 10:30 Am to 12:30 at environmental park was organized in collaboration with department of Environment and Remote Sensing J&K.
The Tree Talk at Cheshmashi focussed on “diversity of decorative flora and contributions of stalwarts like Professor KN Kaul and Arjun Nath were highlighted” by the program host OP Sharma aka Vidkarthi, a senior Forest official.
The second program at Rangreth focussed on temperate horticulture, environmental issues and role of society.
The program hosts said till now over 5000 people have attended the program which started last year in Jammu.
The visitors hailed Vidyarthi for the endeavour.
Meanwhile, the hosts said several prominent personalities including last year's IAS topper Dr Shah Faesal, Regional Director Environment Mian Javed, Director Environment and Remte sensing RK Kesar, Chairman J&K Pollution Control Board Lal Chand, senior forest officer, PCCF J&K Irshad Ahmad Khan, Town Planner Shafat Reshi, CCF SP Arya, PK Singh, G Prasanna, Shaheena Khan, Dr DB Singh , Dr Srivastva, MS Waddo, Syed Imtyaz , Ghulam Nabi, Shogufta Mushtaq , Fayaz Bhat , Prof Haqeeqat Singh , Dr Syed Iqbal and Humayun Rashid attended the function.
