Govt to upgrade Heewan, Khanpora medical centres

Sopore, July 25: Former Union Minister and J&K Pradesh Congress Committee President, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz and Health Minister, Sham Lal Sharma visited Heewan (Narvav Baramulla) and announced that the medical centre at Heewan would be upgraded as full fledged Primary Health Centre.
According to a communiqué, they also visited Khanpora Baramulla and announced that the medical unit there would be upgraded as Urban Health Centre.
Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz also assured the fruit growers here that their demands like cold storage, crop insurance , expansion of Mandi and macadamization were genuine and these would be fulfilled.
Responding to the demands of Fruit Growers Association highlighted by its president, Fayaz Ahmad Malik, Prof Soz who was accompanied by Health Minister, Sham Lal Sharma assured the gathering that he would seek help from Union Agriculture Minister to accommodate important demands within the Horticulture Mission already approved by Government of India.
Sham Lal Sharma announced that he would take up certain demands like macadamization and expansion of Mandi on priority and assured the fruit growers that their demands would be met in near future.
Later, Prof. Soz attended the function organized by Adbi Markaz Kamraz and released a Book of Essays by Abdul Ahad Hajini.
Prof Soz addressed writers and said that a vigorous movement should be organized for promotion of Kashmiri language. Prof Soz said he would write to Chief Minister shortly that Kashmiri should be taught at 9th and 10th classes from the next session.
