Makhdoom Sahib shrine Intizaamiya appeals CM
Seeks upgradation of facilities for devotees
SYED IMRAN ALI HAMDANI
Srinagar, July 25: The Makhdoom Sahib (RA) shrine management has appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who is also the Chairman of Muslim Wakf Board to upgrade the hillock shrine and also provide other requisite facilities for the devotees.
The shrine Sajada Nisheen, Pirzada Shahid Jeelani Makhdoomi gave a detailed list of the demands.
He said a two storeyed Sarai be constructed on the pattern of similar facility at the shrine of Baba Reshi (RA).
Also he said shops be constructed near the shrine staircases for the traders who have been running their business at the site for the past many years.
He also said that a special power supply line should provide interrupted power to the shrine.
“Transport facility be upgraded particularly from Batamalloo on to both sides of Bachidarwaza and Sultan-ul-Arfeen College gate so that devotees do not face any hardships in reaching the shrine.”
He also said that the Waqaf board land should be properly fenced.
The Sajada Nisheen demanded a proper parking space. He also said that there was a dire need to shift the library from the shrine to a nearby Masjid.
Given the huge rush of devotees on Thursday at Fajar Salah, he said there should be adequate supply of water to the area from Wednesday evening adding that additional deployment of police and the SMC Safai Karamchaires be pressed into service on the day.
He said the first floor of Masjid Sharieef Sheikh Hamza was incomplete adding that the Waqf Board should get it completed.
Makhdoomi urged upon the authorities to deploy fire tenders for the shrine to avoid any eventuality.
