Rajouri youth’s PSA quashed

Jammu, July 25: Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed detention order under Public Safety Act against a youth from border district of Rajouri.
The youth, Quresh Ahmed son of late Abdullah of Village Panghai Thanamandi was detained following an order passed by District Magistrate Rajouri on December 21, 2010 on the allegation that he was working as Over Ground Worker and courier of Lashkar-e-Toiba.
Justice Hasnain Massodi after hearing the case observed that the detaining authority had failed to discharge its constitutional responsibility. “The failure on the part of detaining authority to discharge its constitutional and statutory obligation has again rendered the detention order unsustainable,” the Court observed.
