JKLF condemns attempted molestation of girl
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 26: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front acting chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat on Tuesday strongly condemned the attempted molestation of a class 9th girl student by a soldier at Haiderbaig, Pattan, in Baramulla on Monday.
In a statement, Bhat while expressing serious concern over the growing incidents of crime against women allegedly by the uniformed men, termed these assaults as a ‘war weapon’ to weaken the ongoing freedom movement. He said, “Such shameful incidents will continue to happen in Kashmir till the presence of armed forces.”
Bhat also strongly condemned, what he called, the studied silence maintained by the pro-India politicians over the ‘assaults on women by the armed forces’.
Meanwhile, the Front has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of the incarcerated pro-freedom leader Shakeel Ahmad Bakhshi. It has expressed concern over the continued detention and falling health of its incarcerated leader Mir Siraj-ud-Din. It has also condemned the invocation of PSA against Mirwaiz south Kashmir, Qazi Yasir, for the fourth consecutive time.
ANSARI VISITS FAMILY
People’s Democratic Party senior leader and MLA Pattan, Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari visited the family the girl in Yadipora Pattan.
He expressed anguish at the incident and promised the family of his and the party’s full support in securing justice. Later, Molvi visited the army unit at Haiderbaig where he was informed that an inquiry into the incident had been instituted. He was assured of prompt and appropriate action in light of the findings.
