Plantation under DRDA Haryali

Doda, July 26: The Minister for Horticulture and Health Sham Lal Sharma today directed Deputy Commission Doda to conduct a detailed physical enquiry into the plantation by the horticulture department in the district under DRDA Haryali scheme.
The minister, in the DDB meeting, directed DDC to conduct physical inquiry into the plantations made by the departments in the District and submit the report to his office, official sources said.
The Minister said that there is a lot of scope of Horticulture, Floriculture and Agriculture in the district which needs to be fully explored. He asked the officers to create awareness among the people particularly farming community regarding various schemes initiated by the government for development of agriculture and allied sectors in the area. He said Horticulture, Floriculture, Sericulture and allied Sectors are the strength of the economy in the state and development of these activities is the top priority of the government. The Minister also directed the officers to identify non-performing officials and initiate strict action against those.
He said that proper guidance and counseling must be provided to the prospective entrepreneurs to enable them to establish viable and fruitful income generating units in the District. He said that Fruit Mandi at Bhaderwah will be established subject to availability of land.
