CMO Doda attached

Doda, July 27: Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma today attached Chief Medical Officer, Doda, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir with Director Health Services, Jammu for dereliction of duties and “noticeable poor performance”.
 The official spokesman said that District Health Officer, Doda, Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zargar will look after the work of CMO in addition to his own duties.
 The Health Minister, who is on a  two-day tour of Doda and Kishtwar districts, inspected various health institutions and found the functioning of some of them unsatisfactory, prompting him to order  attachment of the CMO with immediate effect, the spokesman added.
 Issuing stern warning to the medicos against showing slackness in their duties, the Minister maintained that dereliction of duties will not be tolerated; adding whosoever is found of poor performance will face strict action.
 He said government has taken several steps to improve the working conditions of the doctors and para-medics in the health institutions and naturally expects improved deliverance in their service.
 The institutions inspected by the Minister included, District Hospital Kishtwar, SDH Bhaderwah, PHCs, Prem Nagar, Chhatru and several others en-route Bhaderwah to Srinagar.
