Srinagar, July 27: Chicken Biryani will now literally drive down to its consumers. This is what Meals on Wheels, a mobile van offering the Mughlai cuisine, promised Wednesday with its maiden drive down the City roads.
The facility, which will offer the packed Biryani, at Rs 50 per box, was flagged off by prominent photographer Habib Naqash, who partners the mobile venture.
Naqash said the van would provide tasty feast to the consumers at affordable price. Once the market picks up, we will “roll out other varieties like Vegetable and Mushroom Biryani.”
The Meals on Wheels, as per its owners, has hired services of professional cooks who “prepare the Biryani in hygienic conditions at Abi Guzar kitchen.”
The van will be catering to the City consumers from 11 AM till late in the evening.
“Initially we have planned the route which will start from Sonawar and move towards the City centre areas of Residency Road and Batamaloo,” the mobile restaurers said.
The van will also provide free home delivery for an order of over 10 packs. “The Meals on Wheels will be an ideal for office goers and students who want to enjoy the best of the meals when outside home,” they said.
But what about the taste? “Well let the consumers themselves define it … It’s going to be loved as finger licking yummy,” they said.
