Rationalize staff in hospitals: EC

Srinagar, July 27: Estates Committee today asked the Health department to strengthen medicare facilities in the hospitals with focus on the health institution of remote and far off areas.
 The Committee which met here under the chairmanship of G M Saroori highlighted the need to have adequate medical and para-medical staff available in the rural and far-flung areas. This, the Committee observed would obviate patient rush on district and State hospitals, besides facilitating rural people at their doorsteps.
 The Committee, stressed on making quality drugs available in the health institutions across the State, observing that sub-standard and spurious drugs constitute big risk for public health.
 The committee stressed on rationalizing the criteria for opening and upgrading health institutions for equitable development of the health sector in all regions and areas.
 The meeting was attended by Dr. Mustafa Kamal, A.R. Veeri, Ashok Khajuria,   Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali,   Murtaza Ahmed Khan,   Subash Chander Gupta, Smt Indu Power, besides  Commissioner /Secretary Health & Medical Education,   G A Peer and senior officers of Health and Assembly Secretariat.
