Rehmani condemns attempted molestation of girl
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Freedom League chairman, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has strongly condemned the attempted molestation on a school girl by a soldier at Haiderbaig, Pattan, in district Baramulla of north Kashmir, terming it the most intolerable and shameful act.
“The growing incidents of crime against women at the hands of armed forces are assuming alarming proportions in Kashmir. This crime is perpetrated by the forces as a war weapon to offend the sentiments of Kashmiris and force them to come on streets,” said Rehmani, according to League statement issued here on Tuesday, urging the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of the frequent occurrence of the crime against women in Kashmir and exert pressure on India to put an immediate halt to it.
