Unfortunate this
This refers to the news “GMC employee booked.” An employee of the Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar had to pay heavily for leading a rally against corruption. He was arrested and then suspended. This can happen only in Kashmir where everyone is being arrested. In different states of India and in New Delhi people can easily lead marches against corruption and hold big rallies as well. But when the same is done in Kashmir, people are booked. This is paranoia. The Jammu and Kashmir Government must do away with this browbeating and intimidation of employees. Where are the employees associations who take to streets for demanding perks? Why are they silent over this incident? The warden of the Girls Hostel GMC Gulzar Ahmed Banday had led a rally of the hospital employees against corruption and not in favour of freedom of Kashmir. The Government is making tall claims of eradicating corruption from the government departments. But it is arresting employees for raising voice against corruption. What kind of a commitment is this!
