Narwara Alam Sahib, neighbourhood complains of defunct drains

Srinagar, July 3: The residents of Dr Ali Jan Road near Eidgah Narwara, under the banner of Social Welfare Committee Narwara Alam Sahib, have complained of defunct drainage system in the area.
The welfare committee said the drains were overflowing causing inconvenience to the pedestrians on Dr Ali Jan Road EIdgah, Narwara Alam Sahib, Housing Colony Tangbagh and Khan Mohalla Eidgah.
“It’s difficult to walk on the submerged roads,” the complainant said adding the stench was making their lives miserable in this hot season.
The residents said: “The chunk of land adjacent to this faulty site, which belongs to Muslim Wakaf Board, and local Auqaf Idarah, Alam Sahib Narwara, is continuously submerged.”
“This is very heartening to note that a large population is suffering because of defunct drains and God forbid could prove catastrophic”.
They welfare committee appealed the Chief Engineer UEED to look into the matter.
