Jamia traders seek rehab of fire victims

Srinagar, July 4: Expressing concern over recent fire incident at Nowhatta in Shahr-e-Khaas, which claimed some houses and shops, President Jamia Market Traders Federation, Javed Ahmad Zargar has expressed shock over the damage of property worth millions of rupees which left the affected people shelter-less.
 In this regard the Federation held an emergency meeting, with Zargar in chair, in which necessary measures for the rehabilitation of the affected families was discussed.
 Zargar said it was on the directions of Chairman Anjuman Auqaf and Jamia Masjid’s head priest, Mirwaiz Dr Muhammad Umar Farooq, that a makeshift camp has been erected in the premises of the central Masjid where the affected families are putting up.
 The federation president hoped that his community would extend all possible support in the rehabilitation of the fire victims.
 The Jamia market traders hailed Division Commissioner, Dr Asgar HAssan Samoon for sending immediate relief adding that the official should help in the rehabilitation.
 Meanwhile a delegation of Kashmir Traders Federation led by Muhammad Yasin Khan visited the area and expressed sympathies with the affected.
