Asiya shifted to Srinagar
Srinagar, July 5: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of its incarcerated chairperson Asiya Andrabi presently lodged in Central Jail here. Asiya was shifted from Kot Balwal Jail, Jammu, to Srinagar Central Jail on High Court orders on July 3.
Quoting Asiya’s family members who met her on Monday, the DM spokesperson said, “Asiya is suffering from various ailments due to
continued detention. She is suffering from visual impairment. She is having severe pain in joints due to increase of Uric Acid. She feels it very difficult even to move.”
“Despite being so ill, she is not provided any medical aid in the jail,” the spokesperson said.
The DeM demanded that Asiya should immediately be provided medical facilities so that her health improves and she feels better.
