Centre enhances GDC’s intake capacity

Srinagar, July 6: Continuing with its efforts to support Jammu and Kashmir in its endeavor to improve healthcare and enhancing the availability of trained and qualified manpower, Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad has approved the grant of renewal permission for admitting 6th batch of students to BDS course in the Government Dental College here with increased intake capacity from 20 to 50 for 2011-12.
 Earlier DCI had conducted the inspection of GDC to verify the adequacy of infrastructure and manpower.
 On the basis of inspections carried out by DCI, the Executive Committee of DCI recommended to the Union Health Ministry to renew its permission for admitting the next batch of students in BDS course.
 Accepting the recommendation of DCI, Union Health Minister had approved the grant of renewal permission for GDC Srinagar.
