Conference on Imam-i-Azam (RA) held
Srinagar, July 6: A one day conference on Imam-i-Azam Abu-Hanifa (RA) was held here today under the Chairmanship of Moulana Muhammad Yaseen Akthar Islahi of New Delhi at B.Ed College here.
The conference organized by Anjuman Ulemai-Ahnaf, J&K was attended by a galaxy of Ulema, religious scholars, Imams of various Masjids of the Valley besides people from all walks of the society.
On the occasion, Moulana Mufti Muhammad Mukaram of Fatehpori Jamia Masjid, New Delhi was the guest of honour. The speakers dwelt on works of Imam-i-Azam (RA) describing him as a great Islamic Scholar who always worked for popularizing the Islamic teachings as per Holy Quran and Sunnah. “The jurisprudence of Imam-i-Azam (RA) have always been regarded as most appropriate for settling various Islamic issues which originate in day to day life,” the speakers said.
They said many reputed Islamic Scholars have written books on the life of Imam-i-Azam (RA) which also include famous scholar Syed Jalal-U-Din Sayuti. The Speakers expressed their gratitude to the Anjuman Ulemai Ahnaf, Jammu and Kashmir for organizing this conference. Latter, the Conference ended with prayers.
Among others who spoke on the occasion included Vice Chancellor, Islamic University, Awantipora, Dr. A. R. Trag, Justice (Retd), B. A. Kirmani, Moulana Muhammad Ashraf Indrabi, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din Mufti Azam, J&K State President Jamiat Hamdani Moulana Riyaz Ahmad Handani, Moulana Showkat Ahmad Keng, Moulana Ghulam Rasool of Hazratbal Shrine, Moulana Manzoor Ahmad, Vice Chairman Muslim Waqf Board, Prof. M. Y. Qadri, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, M. A. Kakroo and Director Information, Farooq Ahmad Renzushah.
The General Secretary Anjuman Ulema Ahnaf, Peerzada Molvi Akhzar Hussain, earlier, welcomed the guests and highlighted the aims and objectives of the Anjuman and the Conference.
