Hyderpora family seeks compensation

Srinagar, July 6: The owner of a three storey building recently vacated by the armed forces after around 12 years of its occupation have urged the State Government to compensate them for the losses.
In a statement, Mir Abdul Ghani said his building at Green Avenue Colony, Sector No 1, Hyderpora was occupied by the forces in 1998 and he had to fight a long battle to get it vacated from the occupation. Claiming that the house was vacated only after the intervention of the State Government, Mir said the house has suffered serious damage due to the prolong occupation.
Demanding compensation for the loss suffered by him, Mir urged the chief minister, Omar Abdullah to personally look into the matter.
