Tributes paid to Prem Nath Bazaz
New Delhi, July 6: Rich tributes were paid to freedom fighter and founder President of JK Democratic Forum, Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz, on his 27th death anniversary at Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar.
In a statement, JKDF said, a meeting was organised by party here wherein leaders of political parties, journalists and others highlighted many aspects of the life of Bazaz. They described him as an initiator of political and social awakening of Kashmir, who fought for the interests of the people of J&K and upheld the traditional values of secularism and amity in the Valley.
Forum president, Pandit Bhushan Bazaz, described Prem Nath Bazaz as a true son of Kashmir, who fought for interest of the people through various forums. “Bazaz through his writings and innumerable books projected the innate personality of Kashmir in its various aspects for which he would always be remembered.”
He suggested to the mainstream politicians that they should come forward and work honestly for the betterment of the Kashmiris. The participants urged the J&K Government to erect a memorial in his honour and name a road in the State after Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz, the part statement added.
