Amarnath Yatra suspended

Srinagar, July 7: Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) R K Goyal on Thursday said the forward movement of the Amarnath Yatris along Chandanwari route was suspended due to heavy rains.
He said the movement of pilgrims and the weather condition were being monitored continuously. Pilgrims had to be advised against moving forward from Chandanwari, Sheshnag and Panjtarni and those in transit were advised to reach the nearest camps at Sheshnag, Panjtarni and Baltal. Meanwhile, the Yatris who had already arrived at the Cave were safely returning to Baltal and Panjtarni, till the reports last came in.
