DOEACC Rangreth gives live IIT-classroom experience to college teachers

Srinagar, July 7: In a welcome development, the DOEACC Centre Srinagar/Jammu has become an ISRO-IITB EDUSAT centre of IIT-Bombay for its e-Outreach Project under National Mission on Education through ICT.
Under this project, IIT-Bombay works with teachers of premiere technical institutions in the country to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching/learning process in core engineering and science subjects.
This initiative, according to a statement issued here, has become a part of the National Mission On Education through ICT supported by MHRD, government of India.
To mention, currently, the DOEACC Centre Srinagar/Jammu, Rangreth is hosting a 10-day workshop on “Basic Electronics” conducted by the Department of Electrical Engineering of IIT Bombay. Twenty four teachers drawn from various universities and colleges in the state and DOEACC are attending the workshop. The workshop commenced on 28th of June 2011 at DOEACC, Rangreth
“This is the third workshop of its kind being hosted by DOEACC; the first was held in June-July 2010 on “Effective Teaching/Learning of Computer Programming.”
“In the morning session, the participants attend live lectures delivered by IIT-Bombay faculty in an interactive mode over satellite links, followed by an intensive lab session conducted through a Learning Management System (LMS),” said Ummer Khan, Coordinator of the Workshop.
