Encounter in Pulwama

Pulwama, July 8: An encounter between militants and forces started at Bon Hajin village of Rajpora in Pulwama district Friday evening.
Police sources told Greater Kashmir that troops of 44 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG laid cordon of the village, 9 kilometers from Pulwama town, during which militants hiding in a house fired upon the forces that resulted in an encounter. Firing between the two sides was going on till reports last came in.
Police said two to three militants were hiding in the house. A local resident, Muhammad Shafi, told Greater Kashmir that most of the villagers have taken refuge in other areas.
