Central Jail to host centre

IGNOU EXAMS START TODAY

Srinagar, May 31: The Term End Examination of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will commence from June 1 while the Central Jail Srinagar is scheduled to host examination centres for the detainees pursuing the open university courses.
 Regional Director IGNOU Srinagar centre Mirza Nehal A Baig said: “The varsity has established 768 examination centres including 31 overseas centres, 34 centres in Jail for jail inmates and 61 centres at PIs for convergence students.”
 He said the detailed  hall ticket status is also available on IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in.
 Baig said: “The Examination Centres have been instructed to allow students to appear in examination, even if they do not possess the Hall Ticket (Examination Intimation Slips), but their names exist in the list of examinees for that centre.”
 To a question he said seven inmates at Central Jail Srinagar would appear in the exams at the jail where special arrangements have been made for them.
