Srinagar, June 9: Irked by lack of proper civic amenities and congestion at Dabtal Gurgadi Mohalla, Zainkadal in Shahr-e-Khaas, the residents said they were willing to get relocated should the government rehabilitate them properly.”
 The residents said many of them were willing to leave the locality, provided “we will be allotted plots by the government somewhere else.”
 “But no   proposal has been mooted by the government, despite repeated requests from the locals and assurances from the authorities,” the residents said.
 The locals said area was “highly congested.”
 “Even pedestrians can’t move conveniently and the question of motorable link is a distant dream for our locality,” the locals said.
 They said the locality houses the shrine of Attar Saab (RA) but devotees face inconvenience in reaching the site.
 “The inconvenience is more so during the Urs days,” they added.
 The lack of any public park and marriage hall have furthered the problem.
 “We have been literally begging for the two facilities but no heed was ever to our genuine demands,” the residents said.
 About state of the power network, they said the colony transformer was installed at a risky place.
  “The transformer near Gagar Masjid is an open danger to the lives of children and it needs urgent attention of the PDD,” they added. 
 The residents appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to look into the matter.
