Shopkeepers violating tourist trade norms fined

Srinagar, June 10: The enforcement squad of Department of Handicrafts has penalized 13 shopkeepers for allegedly violating Tourist Trade (TT) and Quality Control Act  compounding a fine of Rs. 8100.
 “The Squad of the Enforcement Wing imposed penalty to the shopkeepers for fake labeling, lack of registration and several other offences under the Act during its surprise checking of different shops at Dalgate, Kohnakhan, Bishamber Nagar and Boulevard areas,” an official handout said.
 Meanwhile, the “erring handicrafts dealers have been cautioned to refrain from indulgence in malpractice.”
