Former SDM attacked in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, June 13: A prominent social worker and retired Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) was attacked by unidentified persons here on last night.
Sources said that Khursheed Ahmed Dev was attacked by at least four unidentified persons when he was returning from hospital, last night. He received injuries in his right arm in the attack.
Family members of Dev said that some miscreants chased Dev on their motorcycles and forced him to stop near Abu Bakar Masjid. “After attacking Dev, the motorcycle borne youth fled from the spot. Though some locals tried to intervened, the miscreants openly threatened them that they will not spare him (Dev)”, one of the family member said.
Police has registered a case and started investigation. Sources said that during the preliminary investigation, police have reportedly identified some of the assailants.
