KTMF presents memorandum to Div Com
Srinagar, June 14: A high level delegation of Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers’ Federation today presented a memorandum to Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon raising a number of problems confronting the traders. The delegation sought immediate action on certain issues highlighted in the memorandum, by the government. The memorandum to Divisional Commissioner was presented in presence of officers of SDA, SMC, Tourism and Traffic Departments and the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, who were present at the meeting. The Federation delegation comprised Mushtaq Ahmad Sagar, Haji Mushtaq Ahmad Adil Hussain Ghulam Rasool Shah Ghulam Nabi Vakil Haji Ghulam Nabi Shah, Peerzada Shahid Jeelani, Abdul Rahim, Hilal Ahmad, Abdul Rahim and others. A detailed discussion was held at the meeting. The memorandum raised issues like widening of roads and rehabilitation of the shopkeepers whose shops are removed in process of road widening, and disruption in traffic due to footpath vendors and removal of vendors from footpaths for hassle free movement of people also came up for discussion. The erratic power supply, unilateral agreements by the PDD, matters relating to sales tax and meeting with finance minister also came up for discussion. The matters related to tourism department were also discussed. Meanwhile, the Federation has thanked Divisional Commissioner, Dr Asgar Samoon, and the Deputy Commissioner, Meraj-ud-Din Kukroo, for showing “positive” and “sympathetic” attitude towards traders’ demands and problems.
