‘Cluster approach to promote Khadi Village Industries’

Srinagar, June 16: The Minister for Industries & Commerce S.S. Slathia has underscored the need for adopting cluster approach for promoting Khadi & Village Industries sector in the state.
 Speaking at a performance review meeting of Khadi & Village Industries Board here yesterday afternoon, the Minister urged the need for formulating comprehensive Action Plan for developing clusters of various  Khadi & Village products having area specific peculiarities  adding that that Kishtawari Blankets, Kani Shawls and Apiculture should be taken up on priority to start with.  He said KVIB has a pivotal role in promoting micro enterprises to empower the first generation entrepreneurs for setting up of their ventures.
